Brexit or not we can’t forget the power of our brand

Being patriotic to the core and being an entrepreneur who subscribes to the “power of your brand”, I have to say that regardless of where we are or will be politically in the weeks and months post-Brexit, we cannot forget we have one of the biggest brands in the world – “London”.

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled widely on business in the past 22 years, and even now I constantly travel internationally. I have yet to come across anyone anywhere in the world who does not know about “London”, and I have seen the sparkle in their eyes when they talk about our capital, whether they have visited London or just dream to do so.

We have the global language of “English” and we are steeped in the tradition that so many countries emulate and aspire to. We still have The Commonwealth and we should not forget that we were once proud to say the “Sun never sets on the Queen”.

Our history speaks volumes of the wars and battles we have fought and won. Through civil unrest and times when others thought we would not survive, we have always found strong leadership to lead us out of troubled times and we will again, be it political and financial uncertainty, or just the general uneasiness we are all feeling.

Let’s all promote our British companies globally. The British Pound plunging should bring with it an acceleration of promotion to sell ourselves to the world. We as entrepreneurs need to do our bit for the collective economic uplift of the UK.

We have the ability to change and should embrace diversity in everything we do. For weeks my fellow entrepreneurs (and I) have felt deflated by the crashing of the currency value, the political uncertainties, and a general sense of the unknown. But as Entrepreneurs we thrive on the unknown. So let us all work as one Nation to promote what I believe is one of the biggest brands in the world – the brands : London, British, UK to name but 3.
